It was a dark and windy night in 1984. The sleet made a gritting sound as it hit the laboratory’s window panes.
Inside the lab, 2 professors and 2 grad students were experimenting with their latest creation, a complete AM/FM/SSB transmission-reception system specifically designed for teaching the principles of wireless communications to technicians and engineers. That system became a huge commercial success, it was sold around the world and helped train thousands of telecom technicians and electrical engineers in dozens of countries. It was soon followed by other hands-on systems to teach the principles of Digital and Microwave Communications, Antennas, Radar, and Satellite Communications.
Building on this success, in 1993, Comlab set itself to the task of creating a broadcast and communications site remote monitoring system. Now in 2024, this system, also exported to dozens of countries, and used by major broadcasters and telecom operators worldwide, has evolved into its 3rd and 4th generations: the Davicom CORTEX and AXON/NEURO products.
All of this would not have been possible without the exceptional team that works and has grown with Comlab over the years. Engineering, production, sales, support and admin team members all work together as a cohesive unit to deliver exceptional products with unmatched customer support.
We are proud of our history and accomplishments over the past 40 years, but we are especially proud to have earned the trust and respect of thousands of customers worldwide. We look forward to continuing this tradition for many more years to come!
