The NEURO can be ordered with up to 5 NIO boards in various combinations to give, for example: 8 Analog Inputs and 5 Relay Outputs; 40 Analog Inputs; 40 Digital Inputs; 8 Analog and 8 Digital Inputs as well as 5 Relay Outputs. Many more combinations are possible, with a single constraint that a NEURO can only accept a maximum of 2 x NIO-5R boards. In this case, the 3 other slots can be populated with combinations of NIO-8A and NIO-8D boards.

Davicom’s NEURO Product can be used for any application where General Purpose I/O (GPIO) is required. Sensor readings and Status inputs can be monitored and used to automatically control actions on output Relays.
Broadcast, Telecom, Land Mobile Radio, Utility, Transportation, Oil & Gas or Mining plants can all benefit from local, and smart, monitoring and control.

Sensors
Directly connect analog sensors or status sensors to your NEURO unit!
No fiddling around with extra adapters, voltage reducers, boosters or inverters.
The NIO-8A’s analog inputs are very versatile since they are bipolar, high impedance (1 MΩ) and cover a wide range of inputs (±0.5, ±2.5, ±5, ±10, ±20, +40 or -40 V). In addition, industrial standard 4-20 mA signals are accepted. The differential feature also ensures noise-free operation when using long wiring runs.
The NIO-8D’s inputs can read logic levels or wet/dry relay contacts, and be software configured for active-high or active-low operation.

Completely Autonomous with High Level Intelligence
Build Onboard Automations with Jobs, Schedulers & More!
The AXON/NEURO systems provide automation with decision making features and commands that go well beyond conventional telemetry systems.
Jobs (or State Machines) can be used to create advanced conditions that will initiate specific actions or combinations of actions. Math functions can calculate such things as averages, decibels and much more. Schedulers and timers can trigger events or actions depending on absolute time or time durations. Counters can compile numbers of events and trigger alarms if something happens too often, or not often enough. Plus, all these operations can be combined or cascaded to produce work-saving functions at the remote site.

Supports v1/v2c/v3
Complete SNMP Agent that is compatible with all SNMP Based Network Management Systems
The NEURO has a built-in SNMP agent to allow monitoring and control from a central SNMP manager (including Davicom’s CORTEX SERIES). When activated, this agent allows remote SNMP management systems to perform GETs, SETs and to receive TRAPs from the NEURO units.
This feature has the added benefit of converting readings from non-SNMP sensors or legacy site devices into SNMP-compliant readings.

Seamless Integration With the CORTEX Series
Use NEUROs as CORTEX Unit I/O Expanders
Running out of inputs or outputs on your Cortex units? Use these I/O modules as a cost effective solution to expand the number of I/O points of a Cortex unit The Modbus protocol ensures a fast polling rate while integration is achieved at the click of a mouse button.

Email, Radio & SNMP TRAP Alarms
Configure Alarms based on configurable threshold limits.
Alarm notifications can be sent by Email, or to an external SNMP Manager via SNMP TRAPs or INFORMs. Up to 5 alarm-call lists can be configured to notify different teams or to differentiate alarm severity.
Thanks to its RS-232 serial interface, the NEURO can send text messages to Radios using specific Two-Way Radio Serial Data Protocols (contact Davicom for specific protocols supported).

Data Logger & Event Log
Keep Track of Events and Sensor's Data
Data Loggers can be configured to keep track of sensor readings over time. Use the built-in logic of Jobs to start data logging based on logical conditions. Never lose any data and send reports by email periodically or when the data buffer is nearing its full capacity

Use Remote Commands to Control a NEURO at a Remote Location
Say hello to a complete network of interconnected AXONs & NEUROs that are capable of communicating amongst themselves without requiring an external server. Units can send bandwidth-efficient commands to control relays in remote NEURO/AXON-5R modules. Up to 8 commands can be sent to other units and can be triggered either manually or automatically using Virtual Actions or Jobs.
