Batteries maintained at their optimal float voltage—in addition to being held at reasonable operating temperatures—will provide an extended service life. The BACS system is an ideal battery monitoring solution that provides the voltage, temperature, and internal resistance of each battery and manages charging voltage in order to keep the batteries at their optimal voltage level. BACS system allows newer batteries to be placed in a string independently of interaction with the older batteries. Equally important are the cost saving benefits due to the increased service life and the environmental aspects of reducing battery replacement cycles.
